Virtual Festival

Portadown Festival Association will use the following policy in order to run a Virtual Festival in 2021.

The Festival’s Child Protection Policy and approach to Creating Safer Festivals for Everyone is published explicitly in our Syllabus, Programme and on our Website. By completing and signing the entry form all parents/guardians/carers and teachers of competitors under 18 (or vulnerable adults of any age) confirm that they give (or have obtained) the necessary consents for the competitors to take part in the Festival and allow a video performance to be used. Without consent the entry to the Festival cannot be accepted. Proof of the relevant permission will be stored safely until the video is deleted or removed.

  • The performance video will be shared with the Adjudicator.
  • The videos by performers will be used by Adjudicators in order to provide written assessments, provision of mark, and overall grade for class submitted.
  • The video recording will be retained by the Festival and the Adjudicator until the closure of the Festival.
  • The performers video will be accessed by the Festival and the Adjudicator.
  • Password protections will be in place to access the recording.

Adjudicators do not need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to adjudicate on-line videos.

This is the responsibility of the parent or teacher dependent on the location of the recording.

Risk Assessment

This is the responsibility of the host of the location at which the recorded performance takes place. If this is at home, then this may be the parent. If it takes place in a teaching studio, then this is likely to be the teacher. All hosts should ensure the space used is appropriate for the performance and is free from any Health and Safety risks such as slips or trip hazards. This is particularly important for dance performances.

Portadown Festival Association are not responsible or liable for any injury that may occur because of a video performance being made.

Portadown Festival Association should have all the usual copyright information and where appropriate the performer should ensure that the required copyright is in place, as for a live Festival.
